Cardiff Metropolitan University’s sports centre has seen its fair share of activity over the years, but probably not many people floating peacefully on water while the deep tones of gongs ripple through the pool.

The moment you step into the pool space, the atmosphere begins to shift. What is normally a place of movement, training and sport becomes something very different. The water becomes still, the lights soften, and the steady rhythm of sound starts to fill the room.

Floating gently on airbeds, supported by the water, your body begins to settle. The tones of gongs, chimes and crystal bowls travel across the surface of the pool and through the water itself, creating a deeply calming and immersive experience.

For a couple of hours, the sports pool transforms into a space for rest, stillness and sound..
