Floating Soundbaths

Floating, supported, and deeply immersive

Floating soundbaths take place on water, where the body is gently supported by floating beds.

With movement reduced and pressure taken off the joints, many people find it easier to settle, soften, and let the sound move through them.

The combination of water and sound creates a deeply immersive experience, often described as calming, grounding, and quietly powerful.

Sessions are held at Golden Grove Retreat Centre and Urban Zen. Dates and availability are listed below.

What to expect

Floating soundbaths take place on water, where the body is supported by stable floating beds in a calm pool environment. The water reduces effort and movement, helping the body soften and settle while sound is felt through both air and water.

Sessions are gently guided and unrushed, allowing plenty of time to relax, rest, and adjust to the sensation of floating while sound unfolds around you.

  • Floating comfortably on stable water beds

  • A guided opening to help you settle

  • Gongs, singing bowls, and gentle sound textures

  • A slow, steady pace with space to rest

  • Time at the end to reorient and ground

Sessions usually last between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the venue.

The role of water

Water naturally supports the body and limits unnecessary movement.

This can help the nervous system settle more quickly, allowing sound to be felt throughout the body rather than just heard.

Many people notice a strong sense of containment and safety, which supports deeper rest.

No swimming ability is needed.
